OPENING SCENE
SCENE 1: Dark empty industrial-like street in Red Hook, Brooklyn— it’s the first time Enzo Black meets this new gang.
We see ENZO walking down the street, a bit wary, and straggly; he appears to have been walking a long time, with no particular destination.
A car is flying down the street with a loud roar and then starts to slow down and then creep toward him.
DE DE READY
Slow down that’s him.
SIMON MIND
Is it?
DE DE READY
Yes! It’s him.
BOARISH
I don’t think it’s him…
DE DE READY
Who else would it be? Pullover!
DE DE READY gives SIMON MIND a look and he pulls right up to ENZO.
SIMON MIND
Pulling over.
BOARISH
(To ENZO) Hey Man
(He holds up his wanted video transmission on his phone) Enzo Black?
ENZO
(guard turns in defense and begrudging ‘tude) Who are you?
DE DE READY
You should hang with us.
ENZO
Why would I do that?
SIMON MIND
You have nothing better to do?
ENZO
True.
DE DE READY
(she says alluringly) Just get in we’ll Explain Later.
He gets in and they drive off.
SCENE 2: The Crew Hanging out.
ENZO and DE DE Ready are chatting, while Boarish is sort of spacing out and Dave is messing with another gadget of his.
DE DE READY
You’ve been running a long time, so have we.
ENZO
I’m not running.
DE DE READY
What choice do we have?
ENZO
You used to be able to live, do your own thing, people would fuck with you, but you got used to it, now things have gotten so out of control. I never thought it would come to this.
DE DE READY
You act like there’s no hope.
ENZO
Is there? Look at us.
We live like rats among recycled tech everywhere.
DE DE READY
We're not alone, there are others.
SIMON MIND
Hey, listen up. Look at this
We see and hear a wanted poster for ENZO, maybe a voice-over on the transmission of Dr. SLevla.
BOARISH
She put a reward out on you man; everyone is going to be looking for you…
ENZO
What is it with this bitch? I’m not hiding out here, like a criminal…I’m going to the lab and confront it.
ENZO storms out.
DE DE READY
Wait! You can’t go there alone…it’s crazy!?
ENZO keeps walking.
DE DE READY
Fuck! (To the boys) A little help maybe.
CUT TO We see DR. SLevla sipping a Martini
BODYGUARD
It’s Done.
Dr. SLevla smiles. CUT, end of episode one
SCENE ONE EPISODE 2
Late night at the gang hangout.
BOARISH
There’s another transmission coming in…
He shows DE DE Ready and Simon Mind, it is a wanted poster for all of them.
DE DE READY
Let’s find him.
They exit the hangout and jump in the car; they catch up with ENZO walking down the road.
DE DE READY
Get in.
ENZO
How do I know I can trust you?
DE DE READY
You don’t, but you’ll never make it to the lab by foot.
SIMON MIND shows the new transmission to ENZO and he gets into the car.
DE DE READY
What are you planning on doing?
ENZO
I don’t know….They pull up to the lab and start to jump out of the car.
ENZO
I need to go in there alone. This is between me and that thing.
BOARISH
You can’t go in there alone
SIMON MIND
(Still looking at the transmission) Unfortunately, It involves us too now.
ENZO
(Stern) I appreciate the ride, but I’m going in there alone.
DE DE READY gives them the sign to back off. They light a smoke and lean back on the car.
Enzo enters the lab and walks through a long dark hallway until he comes face to face with DR.SLevla. And he guards.
DR. SLEVLA
(To guards)
Leave Us.
(They hesitate and she gives them a look that makes them move)
DR. SLEVLA
Welcome to my home.
ENZO
What do you want with me, (he leans in grimacing) be clear.
DR. SLEVLA
(Smirks) Well…
ENZO
Faster! (Sarcastic) It seems I don’t have much time left.
(Mumbling to himself) You make me sick.
DR. SLEVLA
That’s no way to talk to a lady.
ENZO
Listen I want no part in this, why can’t you get that…. my whereabouts, my thoughts, my dreams are not your problem!!??
DR. SLEVLA
That’s all very sweet even a bit yummy, you want to live out the
rest of your life like an animal, living underground, hiding?
Then I want to see it in my DreamPod…we all want to see.
You will be a netstar, my gift to you!
ENZO
What do you want to taint your pretty little world with filth and desperation? That’s what kills you is that I will never let you own me.
DR. SLEVLA
Oh, but I will. You’re in my world now and I call the shots,
and I say your mine.
ENZO
You really think you can turn me into one of your ken dolls?
That could never happen.
DR. SLEVLA
I do love a challenge…we can make you look just like anything you want, we have databases of prototypes we can browse through. Let's make it a date.
ENZO
I’d rather you just kill me.
DR. SLEVLA
How noble, touching really. I love a man who sticks to his beliefs.
ENZO
What do you want from me? You know I will never join you.
DR. SLEVLA
Of course not, we are natural enemies, but that doesn’t mean we have to be ugly to each other, or does it? Is that part of the game…is that what you want?
ENZO
Life is ugly, your artificial world sickens me more than death, there are some things you can’t control and I’m one of them. So get used to that.
DR. SLEVLA
Give it time. You will see, I can teach you to desire what I am….
ENZO
NO!! You have no power over me. This ends today or I end you, me, and everything.
DR. SLEVLA
(Frantically, tantrum-like yelling) This won’t end until I end it, and frankly, I’m rather enjoying myself.
The doors in the room slam closed.
ENZO
You sick fucking…
He charges her and grabs her shaking her; he picks something sharp up off the desk and slashes at her face. She screams/squeals, and recoils against the wall, covering her face halfway. He stares at her in horror and his mood changes, as he notices that what is dripping from her face is not blood, but pink bubble gum. She notices too and begins laughing manically.
DR. SLEVLA
(Delighted). It’s working?
ENZO (mood change)
What…
DR. SLEVLA
I have to thank you Enzo, I’ve been meaning to try out my new bubble gum blood (she touches it with her finger and offers him some too) it even tastes like bubble gum. (she giggles)
ENZO
(in horror and shock he backs up, she just smiles and slowly moves toward him) You’re not even human anymore….I don’t know what you are.
DR. SLEVLA
I’m a work of art Enzo Black and you can be one too…(She extends her arm to him as she approaches him as if in a loving way, he is disgusted and continues to back up bumping into things)
DR. SLEVLA
Release him.
(She calls out to her guards to unlock the doors.)
He’ll be back when he’s ready.
She waves to him and he runs out of there. He jumps in the car with the gang and says nothing.
SIMON MIND
What happened?
ENZO
Just get us out of here.
They drive off
SCENE 4 — Empty Lot Red hook
The whole crew is hanging out discussing the plans to attack the lab Boarish eats a can of string beans straight from the can. DE DE Ready and ENZO are talking and Dave is working on his little tech toy gadget stuff.
DE DE READY
We need to get rid of that bitch once and for all.
ENZO
We’ll need help.
SIMON MIND
Fuck it, let’s just blow the lab up, give me 20 minutes I can have that place wired, she won't know what hit her.
DE DE READY
(To Simon Mind and Boarish) It’s not that easy, we need access to her data, all her equipment otherwise all we have done is for not. We had no choice.
ENZO
You said there were others, Where? How can we reach them?
We see and hear Dr. SLevla enter from afar, she is finding humor in the old-world charm of this space as if it was a museum or virtual reality game…giggling as if amused.
ENZO
Speak of the devil herself. Let’s… (He looks around ready to react and no one is responding, then they begin to surround him)
DR. SLEVLA
“How charming, quaint!” She snares, “Look at you now, surrounded by a pack of wild dogs”…. covers her mouth all shy like a geisha, “Oh I’m sorry did you think they were your friends?”
Dr. SLevla gives an evil look to Eric (bodyguard) who is looking lustingly at DE DE Ready.
DR. SLEVLA
“I think it’s time we tag this animal!”.
Turns to the crew and says, “don’t you?”
The crew looks down nervous at each other, (DE DE Ready, Boarish, and Simon Mind) grabbing ENZO they hold him face down on the ground. Dr. SLEVLA. Slowly approaches and as she does ENZO turns his face toward her. She sticks her heel in the back of his neck
DR. SLEVLA
I think you should put the chip here.
SIMON MIND puts the chip on his neck. ENZO screams and shakes until he passes out. The gang gets up off him.
DR. SLEVLA
What to do with him now…I suppose I could keep him as a pet…play with him from time to time. I could always use another sex toy…that Ken doll idea hmmm?…
She looks over at him and turns his face to her with her shoe and snarls (turns up her lip)…The gang is looking noticeably nervous.
DR. SLEVLA
He’ll have to be cleaned I’m just not into dirt…we can always put a dirt cell for a visual effect….
(She looks around at the grungy dirty crew before her and sighs. Her Guards go to pick him up. Suddenly they hear a “bbbllaaaarrrrhhwwwwww” We hear a sound from above and there is an unknown device flying above them. It distracts and annoys Dr. SLevla, but she merely gives it an annoyed skeptical look, covers her face, and looks back at the crew)
DR. SLEVLA
Fine leave him. (She looks to DE DE Ready)
Program him; make sure he’s part of the team.
She gives one last intimidating glare around the room and then says to the guards.
DR. SLEVLA
Get me out of here.
They place her veil and glasses back on and escort her out.
The crew waits until she leaves and looks relieved.
DE DE READY
Ok, now we have to move fast, make it clean.
They lift ENZO and throw him in the car and drive off. As they are Driving the electronic gadget hovers outside the car window.
SIMON MIND
Slow down. Open the window.
He tries to grab it.
DE DE READY
Get that Damn thing in here before someone sees it.
Destroy it.
SIMON MIND
No.
DE DE READY
Job done, game over.
Simon Mind catches it and tucks it safely away.
SIMON MIND
It’s mine, I made it, it stays.
BOARISH
Woo-hoo.
DE DE READY
You two just worry about reprogramming his chip.
We’ve got big plans for this one.

Elevator Pitch / Script Notes: FreeTag (Registered by WGA # 1336323)
It is 30 years from now. Most people have had a microchip installed in their spine. The chip is used for basic day-to-day things, like money/credit, automation the illusion of freedom but really it’s used for accountability, tracking of human movement, control. It is a time of heightened superficiality and artifice, a time where people have the ability to be whatever they want, someone different every day. Go in for quick fixes… make your body a piece of art…transform…be free of the body and have yourself recreated, reformatted, or repackaged.
The renegade Enzo Black and his gang represent the few remaining untagged people in the “Free World”. This is the world that they all grew up in so to the natural, raw, and their own body parts and skin and hair and eye and smell was freedom and rebellion and almost seen as unnatural to the rest of the world. They represent the only hope for the future of freethinking.
Our Villain Dr.Slevla desperately wants to Tag this gang of rebels. She becomes obsessed with Enzo and the hope of someday controlling him too. His aloofness and disdain for this superficial future world is unlike anything Dr. Slevla has ever seen and she is tantalized. Although her goal is to tag him, she is enjoying the game.
Dr. Slevla began hating him until she wanted to destroy him, the excitement of more games…the tagging of this raw animal became an obsession and challenge. She wanted to personally have it done to him and will stop at nothing.

Gamification — Pick aside! Using apps and central community branded outlets like youtube, consumers can create a profile or teams and support one faction over the other. Even both! Different events, products, and tags will reward unique “currency metrics” for each faction, gradually unlocking information on the story, potential product discounts, or invite-only faction events when certain milestones are reached. We will solicit the desires of the audience to influence the story arc based on predefined options.
• An example of a first-round game will be an initial media ad, be it social, television, online, augmented reality, or print, that drives people to participate in a scavenger hunt for information. It could be an obviously posed riddle; an AR app that can scan to send players to a control center that starts the hunt, etc. Next, as clues are laid out and unraveled one by one, players will be given access to rewards such as an early view of the next chapter, limited content, VIP passes to events involved with the game, etc.
Make-up (brand, product, experience)— Make-up is self-expression! We can associate certain colors or styles of products with the factions. Purchasing these items reward “currency” for the supported faction. Sharing pictures/videos while “showing your colors” will reward greater amounts of currency.
Furnishings (brand, product, experience) — Mod your space! Pop-up stores associated with each faction can be reported by location-associated apps (foursquare, moveable feast). Set up modding sites where Punks or Tags can buy limited available items with unique modifications. Or set up artists at each station who will spray paint “tag” your items which can then be shipped to your home. Participation rewards currency. We can also tie in a currency for sharing your modded item with the community via an app or website.
Battle of the Bands (brand, product, experience) — Hire 2 different bands to compete live, each reflecting the values of each faction. Allow the audience to vote via an app or social media. Think The Gong Show. What’s the unique reward for the winner?
Smartphone (brand, product, experience) — Unique apps for both factions. They will be used for connection to the community. It can be used as a method of notification, location, and participation. Consumers will be able to view their personal profile including their unlocked rewards. This is also how they will upload submissions for contests using media. The company will be branded into the show via holographic communicators, both personal and public.
Beverages (brand, product, experience) — Create competing drinks reflecting the values of the factions. Free Taggers, all-natural extreme (Hint Water); Taggers, as artificial as possible (red bull); Include QR codes on bottles for increased gamification.
